ABOUT AKM

All The Kings Men is a Christian Based nonprofit agency providing mentor programming for minority young boys that are middle and high school aged living in the Nashville- Davidson County area. The program will form partnerships with local school’s, community centers and the Juvenile Court System. All The Kings Men’s goal is to encourage leadership through exposure, and to build relationships between young boys and adult men that lead to the youth growing into a caring responsible adult man. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give young man the commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

AKM MISSION

The mission of All The Kings Men is to reduce the disproportionate minority contact with the Juvenile Court System amongst the male population across the United States of America.

THE PROGRAM

AKM offers a 9month systematic leadership development curriculum called "Kings In Training", a summer enrichment/fellowship program, group and one-to-one mentoring, immersion trips and monthly parenting sessions. This program is not a single rotation initiative but rather an ongoing program that spans the life of the young man into adulthood as the mentee grows into the mentor for future generations.

All the Kings Men, Inc. (AKM) is extremely special to me for various reasons. I believe greatly in the organizations purpose and the organization's great leaders.

I have a passion for the treatment of troubled youth. My commitment to the heartening field of Social Services began, as a Youth Specialist for the Missouri's Division of Youth Services. I provided group-based therapeutic treatment to juvenile offenders, male ages 11-17, that entered the juvenile justice system and were striving to successfully re-enter the community. Daily empowerment was a key ingredient as I strived to inspire delinquent youth to embrace principles of respect, responsiveness, accountability, and self worth. I helped many youth gain confidence and competence to successfully re-enter school, obtain a GED, or pursue higher educational, career or vocational goals. I see the value in AKM; redirecting the youth before they have to enter facilities similar to the one I served in.

All the King's Men, Inc. (AKM) gives me an opportuntiy to support my professional passion as well as support the incredible purpose work of  my friends and fellow Tennessee State University brothers Founder & CEO Eric D. Capehart and AKM Leader Dywuan Brown. I am extremely proud of the work they do, and I want to do my part in spreading the word and the impact of AKM.
